I know I haven't posted in a while. Things have been changing for me pretty quickly over the past few of weeks. Everything is finally starting to settle now. I'm just trying to get back to me.

In the mean time, have Death Cab for Cutie's video for their new single, I Will Possess Your Heart.

Happy New Year!

Cobra's new video has totally made me into a believer! Fangs up, bitches!

Here it is for anyone who's yet to see it - perhaps because you live outside the US like me and MTV Overdrive sucks, lol. (ETA: I changed the version to the one posted on YouTube by FBR because it's better quality *grins*)

P.S. Er, my exchange fic... I'm still working on it? /o\ This is why I should never agree to pinch hit a fic a week or two before it's due. Especially during the holidays. Especially when I decide to scrap the first version I write and start over again because my recipient deserves something that's not crap. And especially when I'm the one running the bloody exchange. *fails*

Just another indicator that I was never born to be a writer :P

Three posts in 24 hours definitely constitutes spamming, but I really want you guys to see this and weigh in. Especially given the meta I held here last month.

I'm going to guess that we're all pretty accepting of homosexuality here, but what about the genderqueer?

Would you let your son wear a dress at school?

I'd like to think I would, but then the biggest thing I've learned from the paper I'm writing is how deeply ingrained societal norms really are. And would you want your young child in elementary school to be teased and harassed on the playground for something so seemingly trivial as the clothes he wears? Wouldn't a good parent do all they could to spare him from that? Would a good parent knowingly let their child walk into a minefield for ideals he couldn't possibly yet possess?

Or is changing the social norms so important that we must not only endure such ridicule but allow our children to endure it too in hopes that one day we can make the ignorant open their eyes?

I wonder.

P.S. Feel free to tell me I'm entirely wrong and that little boys should wear pants, play with toy soldiers, and never ever take a ballet class - as long as your willing to defend it.

Does saying I find this song disturbing and somewhat offensive make me a hypocrite? Because I have a feeling that if it were a girl rapping about boys kissing boys I might think it amusing instead of just crass. *sigh*

(P.S. This is guy is on a major label and this is his lead single, jsyk)
