In other news, I might be writing an annoyingly "arty", fluffy, Christmas-themed Ryan/Jon with some angsty past Ryan/Pete tension.

... er, what?

Yeah, confuses the fuck out of me too. I don't even LIKE Ryan/Jon. I think it's probably the second most nonsensical pairing of the panic boys around, but for some reason I am still writing it. I guess I was won over by the idea of Ryan spending Christmas in Chicago with real snow, a real family, and a down-to-earth guy who they both know is interested but just waiting for the right moment to act. On the other hand, it's also fascinating to write about Ryan and Pete - who have decided to try being justfriends after a failed relationship - finally seeing each other again and the mess of feelings that creates, especially against the backdrop of Christmas and Ryan's fledgling thing with Jon.

Now if only I could write it in a less pretentious fashion...


I think the SATD Christmas Fic Exchange has twisted my little brain. It's not even Halloween yet and all I can think of is Christmas. Still, I'm excited! So far participation has been better than we expected, and there are some really wonderful and imaginative ideas in the mix.
